Early life:

Selena Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971, at Freeport Community Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas. She grew up in a tight, loving family that believed in faith and music.

Abraham Quintanilla Jr. Her father was a musician and helped Selena start her singing career.

Marcella Samora was her mother and she was caring, supportive, and proud of her daughter’s talent.

A.B. Quintanilla was her brother and Suzette Quintanilla was her sister.

Her family first lived in Lake Jackson, but later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas to chase their music dreams. That’s where Selena’s career really started shining.

Career:

Selena started performing with her family’s band, Selena y Los Dinos, when she was little. She worked hard, stayed humble, and became one of the most loved Latin artists ever.

Her hits like “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “Como La Flor,” and “Dreaming of You” made her an icon all around the world.

Faith and legacy:

Selena was a proud Mexican-American Christian who believed in love, kindness, and following your dreams. She showed how faith and hard work can take you anywhere. Even after her passing on March 31, 1995, her music and spirit still inspire millions today.

She designed her own clothes and had her own fashion line.

She loved pizza and being around family.
